The word of the Lord came to me: ”What do you see, Jeremiah?” I see the branch (rod)  of an almond tree,I replied. The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly,for I am watching To see that my word is fulfilled.” Jeremiah 1:11-12     I want to have a watchful heart A heart that watches like my Lord Attentive always to His word Ready to make it come to pass. As He stands watching, may my heart Watch upon Him with expectation Until it learns from Him the love That takes to stand ever so faithful. I want to watch, watch unto You I want to love like You have loved Eternal Flame that don’t retrieve His purpose, calling or His rod. Make me as watchful as You are Make me so full of Your desire That as a booth I stand  to bring The very presence of Your heart. Watch upon me,  watch upon me To make me bloom Your Truth and Life Come as the winter and retrieve All signs of life. Cover me there in winter snow Until its deep within its cold There like an almond branch my Lord Cause me to bloom for Your delight. You are the light that watches still You are the Faithful One who cries “Come unto Me, come unto Me in death and sin just as you are For I Am watching there for you Always My eyes upon your life To cause your heart to live and bloom Draw near to me and live at last!
