Victim Of Circumstance

Let us consider some real life situations regarding the issue of a victim of circumstance. A victim is one who has not caused the situation and a circumstance is something that has happened. We are looking at issues out of our control. As we look at some of these, let us try to identify with the one who is victimized.
A person of good health suddenly becomes sick and the outcome leaves them disfigured somehow and their life completely changes. A home is destroyed by some natural disaster and everything one has had is lost. A child or any person abused physically by violence, sexually abused or emotionally abandoned. A person works all their life and loses their job because of unfair circumstances. One is incorrectly accused of some crime and never proven not guilty. A family generation ally poor and desolate without education and lives in self defence. A family that lives dysfunctional through the endurance of a family member that drinks alcohol or does drugs. Born a certain race or geography or culture. Carry a name of a individual that carries an overtone of dark issues. Be found being a certain ethnic group that the world has found that some from this culture have caused much harm and therefore all the racial group live with the burden of persecution. An illness that has a life ending sentence. A person found in a religious environment that has caused harm to their hurting heart looking for Jesus. One who has aged and now unable to do as one did…and the list goes on.

These things happen to real people just like you and me. Tomorrow everything could change. Who we really are will be only discerned from our own hearts before the LORD. The world will only deal with the issues from their perspective UNLESS they have Christ within.

All these and many more circumstances leave the affected as victims. In the society or culture that they are circumstanced to live they will be treated according to the paradigms of society and the mindset of groups of people in which they are situated UNLESS there is one whose heart is true.

Think for a moment on one who has been diagnosed with an illness. They have lived their life and all of a sudden they are not who they thought they were. They have an identity crisis and not only within but without. Now they become ONE OF THEM and society now treats them different. Sometimes people even think they cant make decisions for themselves anymore. They may have financial problems now and loose their homes and the dynamics of their families change dramatically and have to adjust to this new structure that none are sure of. Now they are invited for a “charity” dinner from one with good intentions rather than being the one of good intention.

A victim of circumstance does not have a choice in what life deals them. They do have a choice although how they will react to them. An abused person is a victim.

This is a two –fold lesson to provoke your thinking.
First we need to understand that whatever we have endured in our lives when we come to meet Jesus; He is able to heal our hearts and make us into what He has purposed us to be that we are helpmeets with Him and are enjoined with Him that His church is built in Love and by His Spirit. He will mend your heart that you no longer have negative responses to that which affected your life unfairly but will instead live a life free of fleshly attributes that vex your soul. God by His Spirit through Jesus Christ will allow you to “HEAL” emotionally, spiritually and perhaps physically releasing you from bitterness, hatred and all the ugly things that attach themselves in your heart that are unlike His character and cause you sadness, depression, oppression and the likes. You BECOME like Him and live a life of obedience and conform into His image. This then will allow you to forgive and move in everything you do in LOVE and compassion to others. Even when life continues to victimize you in circumstances that are unfair.

The second need to understand is our perspective to the one who is victimized. If we really are like Jesus we will not allow ANY preconceived idea to sway our opinion in a situation and will walk in the Spirit of His love seeing the soul of a person in every situation and from our own experience identify with the hurt and pain through the compassion and mercy that God allows to flow to them that they will be drawn to Jesus and be just whom He has made them to be. We will be free of traditional thinking and see as Jesus into their precious souls that He has made with no respecter of persons and see them as better then ourself. See them as His creation. See them as a King and Priest. See the sin but love the sinner. See them free in JESUS and made whole lifted from the place of victimisation and made whole and Holy through the transformation of Salvation made available to all. See the end result. Knowing and understanding that tomorrow shall come and by His grace we are who we are.

This world needs the body of Christ. God is adding to His body daily through love.

May love be found in you that you see with the eye of God, you have the mind of Christ, you have compassion and mercy and go do the work. They are lonely, hurting and need someone like you that only has the opinion of Jesus and is sent to direct them with hope of the one that knows everything about them and shall raise them up out of the dunghill unto heavenly places in Christ at the right hand of God. People need the LORD. People need to SEE REAL CHRISTIANS. See the broken hearted, the victimized, the abused and battered and GO SPEAK THE TRUTH IN LOVE. The LORD has commissioned you. See the captives and direct them that they shall be set free.

In Jesus Name represent as an ambassador an excellent, noble character that only has the mind of Christ in every circumstance. The victims are abused in this world. There is although help coming. Move with the Lamb with the mind of Christ. See them. Their hearts cry out for LOVE. Oh praise be to the HELPER.
